Hello everyone,
Recently Dubai enjoyed a three days holidays on EID, some
lucky ones like Kunal have 4 days off. Everyone was busy making plans for the occasion
from a long time. This time apart from all other plans, we decided to go to the
Gurudwara located in Jabel Ali. It was our first time there.
We’ve heard a lot about the Dubai Gurudwara but never got a
chance to go there. This time I was firm on the plan, and we made it to the
Gurudwara in time.
We went in our personal car and it took about 30 minutes to
reach there from Silicon Oasis. The nearest metro station is Ibn Battuta Metro
Station, from there you can take a taxi, walking is not feasible.
It’s a beautiful place, so peaceful. The ground floor is the
Langar (meal or dining) Hall, in which everyone is welcomed and fed with the
Langar meal of that hour (depending on the time), and on the first floor is the
prayer hall, the building has lifts to commute between the floors, which is
very convenient.
The prayer room is a huge carpeted hall and in the middle,
there is The Guru Granth Sahib, beautifully decorated around with fresh
flowers. The whole place is so mesmerizing. We entered the prayer hall, and
could hear the prayers sung in Punjabi, we could understand a few lines but it was so peaceful to hear.
We sat there for around half an hour, heard the prayers,
prayed and thanked the almighty for what he has bestowed on us. There was
another room in which prasad was served, delicious….
Then we went to the Langar hall, sat there and we were
served with hot delicious food. Serving to the devotees is one of the best service
you can offer to God. We had a yummy meal at the Gurudwara.
An Anand Karaj (wedding Ceremony) had just finished when we
reached there. How I wish I could witness a Sikh wedding. Sigh!!
I personally was so amazed and lost in the ambiance that I could
not take many pictures there.
To sum
up, it was an amazing experience, we needed that peace in our lives.
Eid Mubarak to all of you. Hope you enjoyed the holidays and
reading our experience at the Gurudwara.
Love.
Kirti
